Taverna Old Kamiros- Pitropakis

THE TAVERN

OLD KAMIROS is a family-owned and run tavern located in Kamiros, on the northwestern coast of the island of Rhodes. Established in 1960 by George Pitropakis, it was named after the word-renowned ancient site of Kamiros, within a mere 800 m. distance of which it happens to be situated. An excellent fisherman – one of the most acclaimed in his time – George understandably chose to locate his tavern by the sea. It is hardly a surprise, therefore, that OLD KAMIROS, an instant hit in Rhodes at the time it was established, continues to this day to benefit from the reputation of one of the best fish taverns on the island. True to its half-a-century tradition, our Tavern awaits to serve you the freshest sea food, locally caught within the area, off the shore of Kamiros, from aboard our own fishing-boats. Lobsters, sea-breams, red mullets, octopuses, calamari, oysters and other shellfish – to name only a few of the marine delicacies on our menu. For those more inclined to meat, our charcoal-grill relentlessly yields the best in fresh meat, prepared in the traditional Greek way. Also featured are some of the most popular dishes of the Greek cuisine, along with some delicacies typical of the island of Rhodes, everything assorted with refreshing salads prepared with prime-quality vegetables grown in our garden. From the OLD KAMIROS’ privileged site, you will have the possibility to let your eyes pleasantly fuse themselves into the immensity of the deep blue out yonder, with the islands of Symi, Tilos and Halki in the distance. Yours to enjoy is also the sandy beach right below the tavern, one of the few of its kind on this northwestern part of the island. The cooling summer breezes will compensate for the heat of the summer days while you’re enjoying your lunch.
